Typism Book Features

I had originally created the lettering artwork with this fabulous quote when my family and I were going through very dark times because of my mom’s health. We were facing an imminent and scary challenge so this quote could not resonate with me more. Fortunately, we succeeded. My mom fought and won! So the fact that this quote was selected to be featured in Typism Book 7 meant more to me than I can explain with words. Forever grateful with Typism and Dominique Falla for including my work in this wonderful book among such great artists.

Still one of my favorite quotes to date, this is what I wrote after creating the artwork for it:

“Every now and then, I like to reflect. Sometimes in life you can choose to whine about how bad the cards you’ve been dealt with are, you can cry because things are unfair, or you can decide to choose to not focus on that, and focus on how it can get better from now on. No one is happy when life gets tough, that’s a given. But if your mind lets you, even if for the slightest moment, why not focus on the simple things? On the great memories that made you who you are today? On the endless paths that you can find ahead and walk along? On the fact that no matter what the circumstances are, we are here. Anyway, the moment I heard this quote, it moved me deeply and it meant so much to me. I heard it in the movie Breakthrough. I hope it means something to you too. I want to dedicate this to my family.“
